Second Blog Prompt

My first semester in college was definitely a huge transition from high school because I realized that now I would be on my own and I had to become a young adult. Being a student at Defiance College is a nice experience because I am miles away from home and I was able to meet different people from different states. Some challenges that I face is being overwhelmed sometimes from schoolwork and being away from my family for a period of time. College is different from high school because you have to make your own decisions and you get more time to do your classwork. In college you have to have time management skills because if you don't you could possibly fall behind. I definitely agree with Hjortshoj's ideas because transitioning from high school to college was a huge process that every college student has to go through. In college having motivation to do your work is a big thing to have  because if you procrastinate too much you will most likely not do your work and turn in your assignments late.






In chapter two, Hjortshoj's ideas he explains how you will need to develop effective reading, listening and writing skills as you learn in class. Effective reading. listening and writing skills are important and they connect in many ways. Listening, writing and reading can help you be an effective communicator. You can have an improvement in reading if you have effective writing. If you have listening skills it is beneficial because some people do better with listening than they do with reading. Listening to writing can be helpful to people who are trying to develop those skills and while trying to learn them. Being a good listener can be an effective listening skill. The communication skill is a big thing to have in life because you need to be able to talk to people and listen to people. You can communicate through writing with papers or books.You can communicate by talking to someone and then listening to them. Communication with reading can be developed or improved because it helps you develop mind and imagination. I think that the role of the first year writing course in college is for you to learn reading, listening and writing skills. All of these skills are essential to have in college because you need to know the basic skills in order to improve and learn. These skills will be beneficial for you because you will know how to cope with certain things in life and in college.

Sixth Blog Prompt

The fairy tale that I am going to write about is Little Red Riding Hood. The story was that one beautiful day Little Red Riding Hood was sent by her mother to take some goodies to her grandmother. Before Little Red Riding Hood left her mother told her not to talk to strangers and don't get distracted by anything. While walking Little Red Riding Hood seen some beautiful flowers so she began to pick them without paying attention to her surroundings. Twelfth Blog Prompt

After watching the short film it began with a woman and man inside an elevator and she turns on her music on her phone and so does the man, and they keep turning up their volume to hear their music louder than one another. Other people began to enter the elevator and they play their music and they all try to have their music louder than each other. In the end, another man enters the elevator and he has a big boombox so everyone turns their music off because they assume that his music will obviously be much louder. Everyone turns their music off because they all know that they won't overpower the man with the boombox.
